Explore our all level class offerings designed to facilitate collaborative learning. In these classes we will be working on building individual and partnered skills and even community building dance skills. We want you to work with your dance partners to build each other up- not just in skills but also with active listening, compliments, and in some cases helpful feedback. Dancers that help each other learn grow together!

Solo Jazz for Partner Dances
About the class- So you happened to start learning a partner dance whose foundations are found in a variety of solo dance stylings put into a partnership but solo dancing is foreign, scary, and just plain hard. Fear not: this class is just for you! In this class, solo jazz is broken down to such a simple level it can make the most timid of dancers feel brave enough to jump into the world of solo dancing and truly connect with the foundations of African American Jazz Dance.

3D Groove
About the class- In this class, we will ask and answer: where is your groove?. Come and explore the element of the dance that makes one truly swing. Spice up your existing vocabulary and try out some new steps.

Balboa: Walkin’ in Rhythm
About the class- Sitting out fast songs? Come learn a dance that will allow you to dance to faster music without getting tired. Balboa is a fun swing dance known for its close connection, intricate footwork, and smooth efficient movement. No prior balboa experience required. Those with previous experience with balboa will receive some differentiated tips to refine their fundamentals.

About the class- In this course, we’ll take a bird’s-eye-view of the musical structure of swing era jazz. Through our improved understanding, we will explore how to express this overarching narrative while developing individual style.

About the class- Cross-training dances can make you a more creative and versatile dancer. Learn some lindy hop movement inspired by balboa. No balboa experience is required to participate in this class.

About the class- For this class you're going to be learning the shim sham choreography in the stylings of Al Minns and Leon James as documented in the film The Spirit Moves. Not only will you learn a fun variation on the Shim Sham Shimmy invented by Willie Bryant and Leonard Reed, you'll be getting insights on the dance stylings of Albert Minns and Leon James. Also, going over the tradition of stylization of line dances in African American Dance vernacular.

Build Your Own Lindy: Personal Moves
& Styling Lab
About the class- Ready to go beyond memorized patterns and make your Lindy Hop your own? In this class, you’ll learn how to develop original moves, vary familiar shapes, and add personal styling that fits your body and musical voice. Perfect for dancers who want more creativity, individuality, and play in their dancing.

Roots & Rhythms
of West Africa

About the class- This traditional West African dance class will explore cultural storytelling and rhythm through movement.

Bettering Your Best
About the class- In this course, we will gain insight into our individual strengths and areas for improvement. We will learn the skills of observation, means to practice, and modes for self-assessment. ***Students will share written anonymous positive feedback about each others’ dancing as a part of this educational experience.
